Bacnet

BACnet allows you to get data from your IoT devices into your existing BMS system. This article will explain how to set the Nano up to achieve this.

BACnet Network Settings

  1. Log in as Admin
Navigate to Project → Network from the sidebar navigation pane.

  2. First select the Network configuration for the interface connected to the BMS in the Interfaces Tab. Generally, this is a static IP in the same network segment as the BMS.

3. Select the Bacnet ID, Bacnet Port, Local Endpoint (the network interface connected to the BMS network) and the broadcast address.

 4. BACnet Points Selection

Select the KPIs you would like to be exposed as BACnet points, for instance, the AQI sensor below is exposing as BACnet points Temperature 1, Humidity 1 and CO2 index.

Click on save to finalise.

Yabe

To test that Bacnet is functioning and set-up correctly on the Nano, we suggest using YABE.

This is an easy way to poll the Nano platform for device data using Bacnet with a graphical user interface.

  1. Right click Devices and select add device. The PC should find the device automatically

  2. Under the device (shown in the bottom left panel) if the variables are shown as UNKNOWN, double click them and the system will discover the name and address.
